What do I need to drink my first glass of Absinthe?

Firstly, you need a good Absent with real wormwood. Sounds easy, but there are as well a lot of "Faux Absinthes" on the market. Faux means, that they are not the real thing, which primarily means that they are not made with artemisia absinthium (grande wormwood).  Secondly, a real Absinthe should be distilled and should not contain artificial colorings. The next thing is that you have to buy an Absinthe glass, an Absinthe spoon and sugar cubes. With these three accessories, you are prepared to experience the Green Fairy. In the picture, you see the Absinthe brand Heritage Verte. We recommend it as a starter Absinthe, as it is distilled accordingly to a traditional recipe in France. The taste is very classic, as the recipe of this Absent (Absinthe) is focused on the three traditional herbal ingredients: Anise, fennel and grande wormwood - artemisia absinthium.

Which is the strongest Absent alcohol

Well, this is hard to say. Some Absinthes have an alcohol percentage of over 80%, of course these brands will knock you out of your socks... But alcohol is not the ingredient that makes Absinthe a special liquor. It is the herb wormwood. But, and this is important to mention here, Absynthe (different Greek spelling) is not a hallucinogenic drug! You will not see pink elephants. Therefore, drinking Absinthe is safe, assumed that you drink it responsibly. Vodka or Gin juts have 40% alc. by vol. Absinthe with 60%+ is much stronger! Be careful.
